5 Geoplast projects to visit after the Coronavirus crisis

Travelling is essential to all of us that work in the building industry, we need it for inspiration, cooperation, and meetings. However, the travels will be restricted for some time. That is why we prepared the list of our projects which you can visit after the Coronavirus.
Valencia, Spain – City of Arts and Sciences
The iconic architectural complex in Valencia, designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, includes areas for arts, sciences, nature, and sporting events. Recently, the exciting design of the buildings is used as a scenography for the third season of Westworld series.
Our Modulo was used for the construction of 1,800 m2 of ventilated foundations.
In addition to the contemporary architecture of the complex, the old town of Valencia is one of the richest examples of medieval and gothic architecture with layers of following epochs. Also, food lovers should not miss the famous Central Market.
Montpellier, France – Le Nuage
Fitness and wellness center in Montpellier is particularly famous for its inflatable facade, and the nickname “The cloud”. The mixed-use building is designed with open floor plans, by famous designer Philippe Starck.
Skydome was chosen to build 4,500 m2 of bi-directional lightweight floor slabs.
Montpellier is rich with modern architecture buildings, including examples such is government building Pierresvives by Zaha Hadid, residential tower L’Arbre Blanc designed by Sou Fujimoto (among others), or Saint Roch train station by Christian Lacroix. Also, do not miss wine tasting.
Mardid, Spain – Torre de Cristal
The architecture of this famous office building became one of the landmarks of Madrid, designed by César Pelli. Due to sustainable solutions used in planning and materialization, like the so called ‘active facade’ and advanced electrical solutions, the building has been certified with A Class Energy Certificate.
Multimodulo was used for construction of a foundation slab in order to compensate for different levels of foundations.
Like any other European capital, Madrid offers all you can think of. The city is especially famous for its art collections in various museums. When you finish sightseeing for the day, you should check out flamenco venues and enjoy the artistry that connects music, singing, and dancing.
Sochi, Russia – Fisht Olympic Stadium
Fisht Olympic Stadium was constructed for the 2014 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, designed by Populous and British design consultancy BuroHappold Engineering. The stadium is planned so that after the Olympics it can be rescaled and used for smaller sporting events.
Our Geotub was used for the construction of columns.
You can still visit the Olympic area of Sochi and include a visit to a sporting event. However, if you visit Sochi in the summer it is the perfect opportunity to swim in the Black Sea, and during the winter you can go skiing in the nearby mountains.
San Francisco, USA – San Francisco Airport
When you land at the San Francisco Airport, don’t miss the new redevelopment area of Terminal 1, which is a 2.4 billion USD project that is planned for the period from 2016 to 2024. Originally opened in 1963, as the “South Terminal”, the renewed Terminal 1 will include sustainability principles with the goal to receive Environmental LEED© Gold certification.
Geotub was a perfect solution for column construction in specific conditions of the reconstruction project.
When you leave San Francisco Airport, anyone who works in the construction industry will not miss visiting the iconic Golden Gate bridge. If it is your first time in the city visit Alcatraz Island, and always be sure to check out the restaurants and events at Fisherman’s Wharf.
