Install Drainpanel in 5 easy steps

Install Drainpanel in 5 easy steps 2

Drainpanel is our recycled plastic module designed for creating multi-level stormwater management basins. Weighing just 10 kg and with a compact size of 112 x 112 x H25 cm, Drainpanel allows for quick and easy manual installation, enhancing stormwater resilience in dense urban areas. Follow these five steps to install a Drainpanel basin in your next project.

STEP 1 Excavate and prepare the base
Step 1 – Excavate and prepare the base
Excavate an area at least 50 cm larger than the basin, ensuring the surface is even with a minimum slope of 0.1%. Lay 10 to 15 cm of gravel as a backing, then place the geotextile at the bottom of the excavation. This setup ensures proper functionality for both infiltration and accumulation basins, depending on the type of geotextile used.
STEP 2 Unpack the pallets
Step 2 – Unpack the pallets
Drainpanel is designed for easy stacking, reducing transportation and storage costs. The entire basin consists of just two elements: Drainpanel and Drainpanel Half, enabling simple assembly of endless configurations.
STEP 3 Stack the modules
Step 3 – Stack the modules
Start by installing the first layer with all elements oriented the same way, cones facing upward. Rotate each subsequent layer 90 degrees from the one below, stacking until the specified height is reached. If needed, place intake or discharge pipelines with a maximum diameter of 125 mm between the cones.
STEP 4 Place the grids
Step 4 – Place the grids
Close the basin by placing Drainpanel recycled plastic grids on top. These grids prevent dirt and debris from entering the basin while providing a stable, level surface for walking and applying the upper layers of geotextile.
STEP 5 Cover with geotextile and backfill
Step 5 – Cover with geotextile and backfill
Cover the basin with geotextile, ensuring the strips overlap by at least 30 to 40 cm to prevent soil intrusion. Next, fill the space between the basin edges and the excavation, then add at least 30 cm of gravel to the top of the basin. Depending on the intended use, the area above can be covered with asphalt, soil, or other specified materials.
