Morocco Mall was built using Modulo

Morocco Mall is the second largest shopping center in Africa with 200,000 m² of floor space and is situated in Casablanca, Morocco. It is a modern building designed by Architect Davide Padoa of Design International, a global architecture boutique with the headquarters in London. The mall features a massive 1,000,000 liter aquarium that contains over 40 different species of fish. The aquarium is called “Aquadream” and was designed and built by International Concept Management (ICM).
The shopping center opened in 2011 and used our Modulo in its construction. Geoplast’s Modulo formwork created a permanent crawl space for ventilating the entirety of the mall’s foundations — totaling 18,000 m².
Our solution perfectly lent itself to this large project, it is easy and quick to install and its high load-bearing capacity allowed for the construction of a fully-ventilated, monolithic concrete foundation. In addition, Modulo created a crawl space under the building which can be very useful for the passage of pipes and other installations, without affecting the structural stability or the building’s aesthetic.
