Our sustainable solutions reduce the carbon footprint of concrete
17 May 2023
Concrete production is one of the greatest polluters in the world, accounting for over 8% of global CO2 emissions. Using less concrete in each new project is therefore imperative for reducing its environmental impact.
Geoplast has engineered several sustainable solutions with the aim of decreasing the use of concrete in building structures. Use them as of tomorrow to reduce the carbon footprint of your next project.
Reduce the carbon footprint in slabs
Geoplast slab solutions create void spaces in slabs, decreasing the use of concrete by up to 30 %. This also lowers seismic loads onto beams, columns, and foundations, reducing the use of concrete in the entire building.
New Nautilus and New Nautilus Evo are permanent formwork modules for creating bidirectional slabs with flat intrados.
Skydome is a reusable formwork for the construction of waffle slabs with an exposed ceiling surface.
Skyrail is a reusable formwork that creates monodirectional slabs that also provide space for MEP systems.
Reduce the carbon footprint in foundations
Geoplast foundation solutions are designed to create crawl spaces that reduce the thickness of foundation slabs, saving up to 20 % of concrete.
Modulo and Multimodulo are used for the construction of ventilated foundations of up to 50 cm in height.
New Elevetor and Elevetor Max follow up by creating up to 3 m high flat or sloped surfaces.
Skynet goes even further by simultaneously forming 25-35 cm lightened slabs and 3m high structural pillars.
