Road network interventions at Milan-Linate Airport’s car park with Geoplast Drainpanel

Drening, Geoplast’s plastic tunnel for rainwater infiltration and attenuation, was chosen to build a new parking lot at the service of Linate Airport in Milan, Italy. The parking is now complete, with a total amount of 2.250 Drening pcs., and it is time to realize the road network to access.

The project plans to build two roundabouts, underneath which will be created two basins for rainwater collection and disposal in the subsoil. Geoplast Drainpanel was particularly suitable for this purpose, as it allows realizing basins and draining trenches developed on more overlapped levels and, therefore, mostly deep. The two basins will consist of stacked modules up to seven and eight levels, for a total volume of respectively 150 and 250 m³.

Drainpanel innovative design permits the easy stacking of the elements and consequently the reduction of the space used for the storage and transport of the materials. It can also be installed also under heavy trafficked areas.

The company which commissioned the works, Impresa Milesi, was very impressed by the fast result, which is superior in comparison to other methods that use concrete elements.
