Which is the advantage in using Biomodulo to build a perforated floor?
Biomodulo allows to simplify the realization as opposed to a traditional system with grills or prefabricated elements, because it’s very easy to place. Moreover, thanks to its structure (patented by Geoplast) a regular distribution of the holes in the floor is possible. This guarantees an homogeneous air supply within the waste or within the filtration material of the bio-filter.
Is a floor realized with biomodulo transitable?
The floors/slabs realized with BIOMODULO formworks have high load bearing capacity and loading/unloading machines and other heavy machinery can easily transit on them.
Do the nozzles have to be bought separately ?
No, the nozzles are part of the formwork because the mould was designed to avoid having additional pieces to assemble. The accessory elements are the closure caps which have to be bought separately.
How do I have to choose the nozzles height?
The choice has to be made on the basis of the base thickness you want to have in function of the applied loads. Generally, for the bio-filter the height used is of 6 cm, on the other hand for the bio-cells the most used height is of 10 cm in order to guarantee an higher transit resistance of the machines.
Are different diameter nozzles available?
No, the nozzles diameter is unique. It was designed to guarantee the right air outlet speed from the ventilation avoiding an exaggerated resitance to the passage.
Ar the nozzles closure caps necessary?
Yes, in order to realize a perfect perforated foundation. Biomodulo nozzles are opened, so that during the pouring stage the concrete may penetrate in the ventilation, causing problems to the air diffusion. The cap is placed during the casting stage, in order to prevent this problem and after the cast it is removed, creating a passage for the air.
How do I use GEOBLOCK and the stop-end accessories?
They are essential elements in order to obtain a perfect result. They, in fact, permits to avoid the concrete penetration in the ventilation, in correspondence of the perimetric walls during the pouring stage.
Geoblock is different from the stop-end because it is an adjustable extension and not a closure element only. Moreover it works as a compensation between the ventilation and the walls, avoiding the cut of the formworks. It can also be used as air inlet pipe insertion point, as well as to generate the required compensations in correspondence of the inspection and cleaning pits on the perforated slabs, if they are planned.
Can Biomodulo be used in drying installations?
This use is possible, but only if the operational temperature isn’t higher than 70-80° C, over this limited heat, the regenerated polypropylene starts to soften. If this heat is overtaken the product may melt. This does not cause structural problems because the CLS has a self-supporting capability but the presence of a mixture of (almost totally) molted plastic materials can obstruct the air passage damaging the process efficiency.
In the bio-filters, Can I use BioModulo instead of BioDrening?
Generally, BioModulo can be used in the bio-filters instead of BioDrening but just when these installations floors are subjected to machines transit, both for the placing stage and the periodical fitration material replacement.
Biomodulo, allows the realization of a reinforced slab made of concrete, that can bear loads of measured in motion; BioDrening, on the other hand is dry placed and the bio-filter installation type doesn’t guarantee the machines passage over it even if the product has an high mechanic resistance.
