19 years of Geopanel: redefining construction worldwide
17 October 2024
Last Saturday, we celebrated Geopanel’s 19th birthday, marking nearly two decades of innovation that has revolutionized the construction industry. Geopanel has transformed projects worldwide, making construction more sustainable and profitable.
This week, we continue the celebration by highlighting some Geopanel projects from around the globe, showcasing its versatility in handling tasks ranging from small interventions to large-scale developments.
Sydney Light Rail, Moore Park, Australia
Sydney Light Rail showcases Geopanel’s ability to solve challenges that other formwork options cannot. Its compact design and reusability made it ideal for constructing 2.5 x 1.9 x 2.4 m manholes in a confined space with live traffic. After the first pit, the client built additional manholes using Geopanel, saving time and equipment costs.
Water treatment plant, Yunlin County, Taiwan
While Geopanel is primarily designed for straight walls, it also allows flexibility in constructing various structural elements. In the Yunlin County project, Geopanel was used to build circular water treatment tanks ranging from 8 to 21 m in diameter, eliminating the need for specialized formwork shapes and streamlining the construction process.
Carlsberg City District, Copenhagen, Denmark
The Carlsberg City District project involved constructing new partition walls within the existing brewery, which was being transformed into a development featuring a hotel, office spaces, and residential units. Geopanel made manual assembly easy in the limited interior space, allowing for faster construction and improved worker safety.
Contra Costa County administration building, Martinez (CA), USA
Our clients sought an effective solution for constructing the retaining walls of the four-story front facade of the Contra Costa County administration building. Geopanel helped reduce machinery and transportation while providing up to 40% time savings, enhancing the sustainability and cost-effectiveness of the project.
Paris-Sud University, Paris, France
The new 85,000 m² Biology-Pharmacy-Chemistry Center at Paris-Sud University was among the largest university buildings in France. Geopanel was initially selected for constructing the foundation walls, however, its ease of use led our clients to continue using it for the entire project, replacing timber and plywood formwork alternatives.
Happy 19th birthday, Geopanel! We wish you many more years of innovation and success!
